Project Description:
The NSGH was the largest single hospital ever undertaken in Scotland. The hospital, one of the most advanced medical facilities in the world, will include a 14-floor adult hospital with bed capacity of 1,109 and a 5 storey children’s hospital with a 256 bed capacity. The facility will have 20 operating theatres and be home to major specialised services of renal medicine, transplantation and vascular surgery.

Advanced Technical Products Ltd (ATP Ireland) supplied over 5000 PICV valve sets to this project, each set consisting of a Flowcon Green PICV with actuator and binder test points, strainer with blowdown valve & binder test point and the 3 way flushing bypass. The assemblies were all assembled & tested at the factory prior to delivery to site or to the fabrication companywho were making up pre-assembled pipework modules.
Various actuators were used depending on the application, thermal on/off actuators for the chilled beams, 2 position electricactuators for the heater batteries and electric 0-10V modulating actuators for the FCU's.
The Flowcon Green PICV offers 100% authority on any of its 41 flow settings and will deliver precise flow to the terminal unit independent of any pressure fluctuations.
